Ava Frick, DVM

Veterinary Medical Director

Dr. Ava Frick received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 1980. From Mission, Kansas to Phoenix, Arizona she developed skills in medicine, surgery, emergency care, and humane society. While working at the Arizona Humane Society, Dr. Frick developed a training program for pet shop inspectors that became instituted as a standard for humane societies across the USA. She was recognized in 1987 with The Arizona Humane Society’s Service Award.

Returning to Missouri in 1987 and building her own private practice she continued to focus on community service by organizing the Franklin County Humane Society and serving as the President for four years. Their Visionary Award was bestowed upon her in 2004.

In 1997 Dr. Frick was certified in Animal Chiropractic by the American Veterinary Chiropractic Association and later served on its Board of Directors for three years. It was during this time that she became interested in physical therapy and began looking to the field of human medicine for ways to improve pain control (including attending meetings of the American Physical Therapy Association and the American Academy of Pain Management) and nutritional health in her animal patients.

In 2001 she sold her traditional practice and established Animal Fitness Center, PC, a clinic where she focuses on animal rehabilitation and pain management, using Alpha-Stim, veterinary chiropractic, and nutrition.

Dr. Frick has been working with Electromedical Products International, Inc (EPI) and developing protocols for the application of Alpha-Stim MET and CES in several species of animals since 2000. EPI Chairman Dr. Daniel L. Kirsch credits Dr. Frick as being the world’s leading expert in the use of microcurrent electrical therapy and cranial electrotherapy stimulation in animals.

Between the hours spent at her practice she rides horses with her son, Dalton, and travels and lectures to veterinarians and the public on the topics of pain, rehabilitation and whole food nutrition. Author of several magazine and newspaper articles, in October 2005 she published an article in the Journal of Equine Veterinary Science on the topic of Alpha-Stim microcurrent. She has been host to two radio talk shows, donates time and skills to assist in mission work, and in 2006 was the runner-up recipient of the prestigious Hartz® Veterinarian of the Year award.

Dr. Ava Frick is a true visionary and this is certainly part of the reason that she has become the Veterinary Medical Director for EPI.
