If you’re using Alpha-Stim, you may be wondering how best to keep your device clean and sanitary. Here are our tips for how to safely clean and care for your Alpha-Stim M or Alpha-Stim AID.
Use Your Owners’ Manual for Alpha-Stim Care Guidance
We recommend that you follow CDC guidelines and always refer to a device’s user manual to ensure that you are cleaning and maintaining it according to the manufacturer’s recommended guidelines.

Quick Guide to Cleaning Your Alpha-Stim
If you want a quick reminder on how to care for your Alpha-Stim, we have a quick and easy guide for you.
What you need:
- Mild soap
- A lint-free cloth
- Isopropyl alcohol
Steps to quickly and safely clean your Alpha-Stim device
- Be sure to place your Alpha-Stim in an area where it will not be exposed to water and where it is not likely to be dropped or have another object fall on it. (We recommend laying a small towel on a table.)
- Use a mild soap (other cleaning solutions could damage the screen and case). Dampen the lint-free cloth with water and mild soap, and gently wipe the surface of the case and screen. Do not spray any cleaners directly onto your device.
Steps to quickly and safely clean your Alpha-Stim Earclip Electrodes or Probe Electrode Pads
- Remove the Earclip Electrode Pads (EEPs)/ Probe Electrode Pads (PEPs) after each use.
- Apply a solution of 70% isopropyl alcohol on the electrodes.
- Remove and discard the conducting solution-soaked pads after each treatment.
- Next, new EEPs/PEPs should be placed on the Earclip Electrodes/Probe Electrodes prior to storing your device.
