It is with emotion and excitement that I write this memo to inform you that effective September 1st I retired from my daily operational duties as EPI’s Chief Executive Officer. I am now in a consultative role to support Brian Burke in his position as our President. Additionally, as a shareholder, I will remain active on our Board of Directors.
Some of you have been utilizing Alpha-Stim® technology through much of my 31-year tenure leading this 40-year-old company. It has been an interesting and challenging experience to bring disruptive technology into the allopathic medical world. Dan and I have always believed in our mission and the fact that the people deserve our non-invasive, inexpensive, and oftentimes miraculous technology regardless of the obstacles placed before us.
Dan was quite the pioneer and well before his time, when he introduced the first Alpha-Stim device to the world in 1981. The hurdles have been immense, but worth it when we repeatedly hear the life changing reports of our customers’ successes with Alpha-Stim technology. These reports are what kept us fighting the good fight each day to keep EPI moving forward toward more widespread acceptance of our treatment approach. Our successes to date could not have been achieved without the hard work of the entire EPI team and the increasing utilization by our dedicated customers.
EPI is currently working on its 9th and 10th generation Alpha-Stim models. This has been no easy feat in the very political medical and regulatory environments of today. Our integrity, expertise and perseverance have been instrumental in our success and the development of the firm foundation that Alpha-Stim has achieved. There is still much work to be done and there are many very exciting opportunities on the horizon that will move Alpha-Stim toward even greater acceptance as a first line treatment for pain and mood disorders worldwide.
Thank you all for the support and dedication to the mission. It has been an honor and a pleasure to lead this company. I am proud of the work done by our team every day and I appreciate the confidence you have placed in us to provide effective cutting-edge technology to your patients.
